The Confident Captcha Joomla Plugin provides an easy and secure way use Confident Captcha on your website, this helps reduce the amount of spam produced by bots. The Joomla Plugin makes calls to the API directly and easily integrates into the Joomla CMS platform.

Quick-start


In order to obtain the credentials for Confident Captcha, register for a free account at http://www.confidenttechnologies.com/Get_Confident_CAPTCHA.

After you have filled out the registration form you will receive an activation email.  Click to activate your account in the email, and you will be logged into the website.  Once you are at the site follow the steps below to obtain your credentials.

  1. Click Add a new site.
  2. In the text box next to Site Name:  type in the name of your site, then click Add site.
  3. Click on the Overview link, here you will find the credentials you will need for the configuration of your site.

  After you've obtained your API credentials, below are the basic steps to getting Confident Captcha up and running on Joomla.

Deployment and Configuration



  • Download the Joomla plugin then login to your Joomla admin account and in the Extensions menu click Install/Uninstall.
  • Under the Upload Package file, click Choose File, navigate to the .zip file you downloaded and select Open...
  • Click on Upload file and Joomla will install the plugin, once it is installed you will notice a message at the top of the screen notifying you that it has been installed.
  • Next, in the Extensions menu select Plugin Manager.
  • In the upper right corner of this page change -Select Type- to system.  System - Confident Captcha will display in the list below check the box to the right and select Edit at the top right of the page.
  • On the left side of the Plugin page you'll enter your API credentials for your site from our site overview page. (Go to your dashboard, then click overview) change the following values to those listed on that page.

    • Site ID
    • Customer ID
    • API username
    • API password
  • If no site displays on the Dashboard then you will need to add a site to get unique API credentials to use with the Joomla plugin.

    The options you can configure are:
    • Width
    • Height
    • Captcha_length
    • Logo
    • Billboard
    • and others!
  • Save the changes and you will now have Confident Captcha installed on your Joomla site!
