The Confident Captcha Drupal Plugin provides an easy and secure way to use Confident Captcha on your web site, this helps reduce the amount of spam produced by bots. The Drupal Plugin makes calls to the API directly and easily integrates into the Drupal CMS platform.

In order to use the Drupal plugin for Confident Captcha, you must download the Drupal Plugin.

In other to obtain the credentials you will need to use Confident Captcha, register for a free account at http://www.confidenttechnologies.com/Get_Confident_CAPTCHA

After you have filled out the registration form you will receive an activation email.  Click to activate your account in the email, and you will be logged into the website.  Once you are at the site follow the steps below to obtain your credentials.

  1. Click Add a new site.
  2. In the text box next to Site Name:  type in the name of your site, then click Add site.
  3. Click on the Overview link, here you will find the credentials you will need for the Configuration of your site.

After you've obtained your API credentials, below are the basic steps to getting Confident Captcha up and running on Drupal.

Deployment and Configuration


Our plugin extends from the Drupal CAPTCHA module so you will need to install and enable that before you begin. You can find instructions for installing that module on your particular flavor of Drupal here.

Drupal 6 instructions:

  1. Download the Confident CAPTCHA Drupal 6 plugin and then extract the contents of the file to an easy to remember location such as the Desktop.  Then FTP the captcha-plugin-drupal directory to the sites/all/modules directory in your Drupal installation.
  2. Once the directory is uploaded, login to Drupal as admin.
  3. Go to Administer > Site Building > Modules.  Enable the Confident CAPTCHA module that appears under the Spam Control sub menu.
  4. Next, go to Administer > User Management > CAPTCHA and select the forms where you would like to display Confident Captcha.
  5. In the upper right corner of this page, click on the "Confident CAPTCHA" tab.  On this tab enter your API credentials for your site from the site overview page on our dashboard.  (Go to the dashboard, then click "Overview" for the site you created earlier).
  6. If no site displays on the Dashboard then you will need to add a site to get unique API credentials to use with the Drupal plugin.

Drupal 7 instructions:

  1. Download the Confident CAPTCHA Drupal 7 plugin and then extract the contents of the file to an easy to remember location such as the Desktop.  Then FTP the captcha-plugin-drupal7 directory to the sites/all/modules directory in your Drupal installation.
  2. Once the directory is uploaded, login to Drupal as admin.
  3. Go tp Modules.  Enable the Confident CAPTCHA module that appears under the Spam Control sub menu.
  4. Next, go to Configuration > PEOPLE > CAPTCHA and select the forms where you would like to display Confident Captcha.
  5. In the upper right corner of this page, click on the "CONFIDENT CAPTCHA" tab.  On this tab enter your API credentials for your site from the site overview page on our dashboard.  (Go to the dashboard, then click "Overview" for the site you created earlier).
  6. You can also update the look and feel of your Captcha on this page by changing some of the settings. A link to the full list of possible configurations has been provided below.

Save the changes and you will now have Confident Captcha installed on your Drupal site!

Drupal Notes


The latest version of the Drupal library is 20130514_DRUPAL, and was released May 14th, 2013.

The Drupal CAPTCHA module is required by this plugin, instructions on where to find it have been provided at the top of the "Deployment and Configuration" section of this page.
